Due to a mechanical issue (well pump) in the school building, the DAMASCUS AREA SCHOOL will operate on a Flexible Instruction Day (FID – virtual learning) on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Damascus students should not report to school on this day. Instead, they will complete their instructional activities and assignments from home via remote learning. It is anticipated that the mechanical issue will be resolved and school will resume normal procedures on Tuesday - February 17, 2026, following the holiday weekend.

This communication DOES NOT impact any other Wayne Highlands school. All schools, other than Damascus, will operate normally (to include transportation), on Friday - February 13, 2026.

HHS Blood Drive Committee Places 1st

Congratulations to the Honesdale High School's Blood Drive Committee for placing first in the theme competition at yesterday's Red Cross Kick-off Event!

Our team, composed of Allison Werner, Ben Wilken, Parker Propst, Hannah Marin, McKenzie Blair and Nicole Billard, created this year's blood drive theme: Your Somebody's Type.

The group presented their idea with a creative poster and complete against Delaware Valley, East Stroudsburg North and Western Wayne High Schools.

The user group placed first earning a $50 gift card to be used towards supplies and materials for this year's blood drive events!

Our first blood drive is scheduled for Friday, November 4, and sign-ups will begin next week.
