Big Sun Scholarships

The Big Sun Organization is proud to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating. Visit the website for details and application. Deadline: June 19, 2025.

The Coolidge Scholarship

FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS - DEADLINE: December 11, 2024
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that cna be used at any accredited college or university in the United States. Academic excellence is the primary criterion considered by the Coolidge Scholarship. Secondary criteria include an interest in public policy  and an appreciation of the values President Coolidge championed. Elks National Foundation

​​​​All high school students in the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Area are encouraged, and welcome to submit an application, properly prepared, on-line for judging and selection, at the local level. The top three girls, and the top thre boys, based on our scoring system, will advance to the district level, and then possibly to the State and National levels. Each student will be notified as this happens over the next several months.

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

High school seniors who showcase leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are eligible to apply for a $10,000 renewable scholarship – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Recipients not only receive money for college, but also join a network of exceptional students and young professionals who desire to lead, serve, and have a positive impact on their communities.

The Hagan Scholarship

Over 1,600 Hagan Scholars are currently attending over 640 colleges and universities located in 49 states and the District of Columbia. With your help, we would like to award over 1,000 new scholarships for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. The award percentage is very high.

2025 High School Oratorical Scholarship Program

This contest will consist of two parts; an 8 to 10 minute memorized oration on some phase of the United States Constitution and a 3 to 5-minute oration on one of four "assigned topics" selected by the National Organization. These four topics can be found at https://www.legion.org/oratorical/topics

Pennsylvania American Legion 90th Annual Essay Contest
For Grades 9-12

Any student enrolled in grades 9 through 12 in a public, private or parochial, cyber school or who is home schooled in Pennsylvania is eligible to participate.

PPL - Brighter Futures Scholarships

To support future leaders in the clean energy transition, PPL Foundation has partnered with a network of schools to provide scholarships to students who are passionate about clean energy, sustainability, decarbonization and grid reliability. PSECU Scholarship Program

The PSECU Scholarship program allows students to focus on their education rather than their finances. Winners receive a $2,000 scholarship every year over the next four years for a total scholarship value of up to $8,000 per student. Scholarship winners must remain enrolled as active students throughout their college education to maintain and receive their scholarship funds.

Students must be a PSECU Member before February 28, 2025 and have your own PSECU account. Application Deadline: February 28, 2025
