HHS Honors Seniors at October Board Meeting
Wayne Highlands School District Board of Directors is proud to recognize three outstanding Honesdale High School Seniors at our past October Board Meeting at Preston School.
Liam Pietraszewski, Autumn Mead, Michael Weidow
Autumn Mead is the daughter of Mark and Robin Mead, of Starrucca.
She is a member of the cross country team, a Community Connections to Our Watershed team member and a member of the band and chorus.
Mead has also participated with the All-School Musical, Music Man, and was part of the make up crew.
She is also on the honor roll and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Upon graduation Mead plans to attend Penn State University with the hopes of becoming a large animal veterinarian.
Liam Pietraszewski is the son of Christopher and Kathy Pietraszewski, of Honesdale.
He is a member of the varsity tennis team, the soccer team, the American Mathematics Competition and participated in the Marywood Math Contest.
Pietraszewski has also participated in the Math Madness Online Competition, the Envirothon and Interact Club, where he is currently the treasurer.
He is a Science Olympiad, where he earned second place in 10th grade and first in 11th grade for Experimental Design.
Pietraszewski is on the honor roll, a member of the National Honor Society and St. John’s Youth Group. He is also an International Student Leadership Institute retreat participant.
Upon graduation Pietraszewski plans to attend a college or university for a six-year DPT program with a focus in sports medicine.
He hopes to work with athletes recovering from injury.
Michael Weidow is the son of Clorissa Weidow, of Starrucca.
He is a member of American Chemical Test A, Chemistry Olympiad Test, participated in the American Mathematics Contest, participated in the Marywood Math Contest and participated in the Math Madness Online Competition.
Weidow also participated in the King's College Math Contest, is on the honor roll and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Upon graduation he plans to pursue a degree in physics education. Weidow plans to become a professor of physics or major in neuroscience at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
